Animal Adoption

Gordon County Animal Control’s function is enforcement of the Animal Control Ordinances within the unincorporated parts of the county, while operating a 38 unit dog and 20 unit cat holding facility.

Facility Hours

  • Monday & Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Thursday & Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Adoption

Animals adopted from Gordon County must be altered in accordance with Georgia state law. When adopting an unaltered animal, the adoption fee is applied to a spay/neuter certificate, which is accepted by one of our participating vets. This certificate covers the cost of the spay/neuter procedure, and a rabies vaccine.
