During the Jan. 2, 2013 Gordon County commission meeting, the first meeting of 2013 and the first meeting with three new county commissioners (Jeff Gazaway, Kevin Cunningham, and Norris Sexton), the Board voted to install Becky Hood as Chairman and Chad Steward as Vice-Chairman for the customary two year term expiring on Dec. 31, 2014. Chairman Hood and Vice-Chairman Steward thanked the Board for their support.
Also during the meeting the Board,
1) voted to appoint Commissioner Kevin Cunningham to the Gordon County Historical Society, Commissioner Chad Steward to the Gordon County Development Authority, Commissioner Norris Sexton to the Gordon County Board of Health, and Commissioner Jeff Gazaway to the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission.
2) voted to change the meeting time of the first meeting of the month (the first Tuesday of each month) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
3) approved an agreement with Lusk & Company to design and build the new Gordon County Agricultural Service Center to be located on SR 53 Spur directly adjacent to the Livestock Pavilion.
