GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
REGULAR SESSION MINUTES
JANUARY 4, 2011
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held their Regular Meeting on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Conference Room of the Administration Building
WELCOME
Chairman Long welcomed everyone to the meeting.
ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN AND VICE CHAIRMAN
County Attorney Hutchinson advised the Board that this is for the Board’s election of a chairman and vice chairman for the term 2011 through 2012. County Attorney Hutchinson called for a nomination for the position of chairman. Commissioner Long nominated Commissioner Bailey as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and asked to go ahead and nominate as Vice Chairman Becky Hood. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all voted aye. Motion passed.
County Attorney Hutchinson turned the meeting over to Chairman Bailey for the remainder of the meeting. Commissioner Bailey accepted the position as Chairman. Commissioner Hood accepted the position as Vice Chairman. Chairman Bailey welcomed new Commissioner Chad Steward to the Board.
EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Chairman Bailey read the list of employees with anniversary hire dates in January. Commissioner Long drew the name of Annette Dutton as Employee of the Month.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Bailey asked if there were any additions, omissions, or deletions to the Minutes for the Work Session December 21, 2010, and the Regular Meeting December 21, 2010. Commissioner Long made a motion to approve the minutes. Commissioner Hood seconded the motion and all voted aye. Minutes approved.

CONSIDERATION OF OLD BUSINESS

CONSIDERATION OF NEW BUSINESS
- APPOINTMENT TO THE NORTHWEST GEORGIA REGIONAL COMMISSION FOR A ONE-YEAR TERM ENDING 12/31/2011
- Administrator Dowling advised the Board that this item is for an appointment to the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission for a one-year term ending December 31, 2011.
- Commissioner Hood made a motion to appoint Alvin Long as the appointment of a Board commissioner to the Regional Commission. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and Commissioners Long, Hood, Townsend, and Steward voted aye. Motion passed.

ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Long made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Hood seconded the motion and all voted aye. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:20 a.m.
