Regular Meeting

Chairman Padgett called the meeting to order at approximately 5:27 p.m.; welcoming all in attendance. Minutes from December 1, 2014 meeting were presented for review and approval. Jeff Henderson made motion to accept minutes; seconded by Betty Ann Surdykowski. All voted aye.

Unfinished Business

Chairman Padgett met with County Administrator, John King, in regards to entrance features of Resaca Battlefield Park. Recommendations were made for a lighted flag pole, additional signage at front entrance and relocation of entrance gate closer to Highway 136.

David Mitchell spoke with two property owners whose property will be affected by the location of TVA gas line. He stated the gas line would require a 50’ right of way, running along the Georgia Power right of way power lines route, which crosses Highway 53 on other side of Blackwood Baptist Church. Gas line will also run across McGill Mountain. The pipeline will be 36” pipe, with pressure of 750-1,000 pounds per square inch.

New Business

Ursula Desrosier received notification in mail of proposed Southern Rail Towers route. HPC members briefly discussed and reviewed notification.

Ursula Desrosier informed HPC members of construction beginning on new bridge on Chatsworth Highway 225.

Chairman Padgett made HPC members aware of upcoming HPC training in April located in Dahlonega, Georgia. Alvin Long and Jeff Henderson were encouraged to attend and will check their schedules.

Chairman Padgett shared original service papers of Adolphus Taylor he has obtained. HPC members reviewed documents.

Adjournment

Next scheduled meeting is Monday, February 2, 2015. Jeff Henderson made motion to adjourn; seconded by Betty Ann Surdykowski. All voted aye. Meeting was adjourned at approximately 5:49 p.m.
