WORK SESSION MINUTES
JANUARY 21, 2014
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 5:15 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building.
Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
The Board discussed each item on the agenda and made no changes. One item was added to the Agenda later in the meeting.
Human Resource Director, Garah Childers, explained the request from the Finance Director, Al Leonard, to ask the Board to make a motion to clarify the funding for retiring Superior Court Judges. There was a consensus of the Board to add this item to the agenda.
Purchasing Department, Martin Vaughn, asked the Board to consider appointing a selection committee to look at the RFQ’s received for design/build of a new fire station. The Board named County Attorney Suzanne Smith, Commissioner Kevin Cunningham, and Commissioner Norris Sexton to the committee.
Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to go into Executive Session for personnel. Commissioner Sexton seconded the motion and Commissioners Cunningham, Sexton, and Steward voted aye. Executive Session began at 5:25 p.m.
Commissioner Sexton made a motion to close the Executive Session and go into the Work Session. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all vote aye. Executive Session adjourned at 6:13 p.m.
Commissioner Steward made a motion to adjourn the Work Session, Commissioner Cunningham seconded the motion and all voted aye. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
