February 5, 2018

Regular Meeting
Chairman Padgett called the meeting to order at approximately 5:13 p.m.; welcoming all in attendance. Minutes from January 8, 2018 meeting were presented for review and approval. David Mitchell made motion to accept minutes; seconded by Betty Ann Surdykowski. All voted aye.
Commission Reports
Chairman Padgett attended the Chickamauga Civil War Show in Dalton the first weekend in February. He distributed a lot of literature on Gordon County and Sunday afternoon brought a group of individuals to visit the parks in Gordon County.
Chairman Padgett met with Don Holley, Director of Gordon County Parks and Rec, regarding some tentative improvements to be made at the Resaca Battlefield Park.
Chairman Padgett compiled a list of accomplishments for the HPC for 2017 calendar year. (listed filed with minutes)
Gordon County Parks continue to be heavily visited.
New Business
Chairman Padgett distributed CSX railroad project information for HPC members to discuss and review. (paperwork filed with minutes) Side track will be approximately 3000’ in length and will be to the eastern side of the existing railroad track. Brief discussion by HPC regarding CSX project. Jeff Henderson made motion to approve CSX side track project; seconded by Betty Ann Surdykowski. All voted aye.
Chairman Padgett distributed information to HPC regarding Resaca sewer project to review. (paperwork filed with minutes) Brief discussion by HPC regarding Resaca sewer project. Betty Ann Surdykowski made motion to approve Resaca Sewer Project; seconded by Jim Weaver. All voted aye.
Chairman Padgett questioned David Mitchell if Nelson Cemetery is titled or untitled property. David Mitchell stated it is not a titled property. Chairman Padgett stated Sheriff Ralston has expressed interest in having Nelson Cemetery cleaned.
Adjournment
Chairman Padgett stated next scheduled meeting is Monday, March 5, 2018 @ 5:15 p.m.. Jeff Henderson made motion to adjourn; seconded by Jim Weaver. All voted aye. Meeting was adjourned at approximately 5:33 p.m.
