WORK SESSION MINUTES

Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
County Administrator Ledbetter explained the rezoning application and the agenda items under New Business on the Agenda for the Regular Meeting.
Ms. Judy Petersen came before the Board to explain the tire amnesty event that she is working on and requesting the County to approve and to sign the Scrap Tire Abatement Reimbursement Program Agreement for the Scrap Tire Amnesty Event with the Environmental Protection Division. Ms. Petersen advised that Liberty Tire would be the partner for this, the biggest cost that would be incurred will come from hauling those tires to a recycling facility. That is what the EPD grant does, it will cover any costs that are incurred up to $5,000 and she said they would not get near that cost.
Mr. William Valentine came before the Board to give the Board members information about the Union Grove South project that he is working on. This is the property on Union Grove Road.
Ms. Sheri Pruitt, Media Specialist and AP Coordinator with Gordon Central School came before the Board to explain the request from the school’s Construction Team to place Little Free Library stations at Ooky Faith Park. The Construction Team will construct and install the actual structure holding the free library books and will maintain the structure.
Commissioner Owens made a motion to close the Work Session. Commissioner Cunningham seconded the motion and all voted aye.
There being no further business, the Work Session adjourned at 5:56 p.m.
