WORK SESSION MINUTES
FEBRUARY 19, 2013

The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, February 16, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building.

Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.

The Board discussed each item on the agenda and made no changes or additions.

During discussion of an agenda item concerning the intergovernmental agreement between Gordon County and the Chamber, Commissioner Sexton asked for clarification on the information that was supplied to him regarding the total amount of funds paid yearly from the County to the Chamber. The Board discussed the $6,000 invoice from the Chamber for the “Keep It In The County” campaign. Commissioner Sexton suggested that the County should pay along the same lines as the City of Calhoun. There was a consensus of the Board to reduce the amount to $1,500, the County Attorney advised that the intergovernmental agreement would be changed to reflect that amount.

Representatives from Redflex spoke about the Student Guardian video system which is used to film violations made by vehicle drivers during school bus stops. There were several questions from the Board; the County Attorney made several comments, about attending a previous in-depth presentation by Redflex. The Board had also received an email from Judge Parker at the Probate Court regarding his findings after attending the same in-depth presentation. There was no commitment made by the Board regarding support for the School Board to contract with Redflex for this program.

Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to adjourn the Work Session, Commissioner Sexton seconded the motion and all voted aye.
