The Board discussed each item on the agenda and made no changes or additions.
The Board discussed the scheduled May 20, 2014 Regular Meeting. Chairman Hood asked the Board to consider changing the meeting date to accommodate her and Commissioner Steward. Their re-election bid will be voted on during the Primary Election on that day and they wish to be available to focus their attention on the election. There was a consensus of the Board to change the meeting date to Thursday, May 22.
Mr. Charles Baker came before the Board with his comments and concerns with the Big Red Barn Concert Hall which is located next door to his residence. His comments were concerning the permit that Gordon County had issued to the concert hall. He felt that the permit had been issued under false statements from the applicant and that the reality of what was happening each Friday and Saturday nights was a lot more than what was presented by the applicant would take place when the permit was applied for. Following a lengthy discussion between Mr. Baker, the Board members, and the County Attorney, he was advised that he should seek help from the Ordinance Officer to determine if the permit holder was following the ordinance.
