REGULAR SESSION MINUTES
APRIL 10, 2018
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held their Regular Meeting on April 10, 2018 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building.

Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION
Employees with Anniversary Hire Dates in April
Commissioner Cunningham read the list of employees with anniversary hire dates in April. Commissioner Steward drew the name of Jimmy Avery with the Fire Department as Employee of the Month of April.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Hood asked if there are any additions, omissions, or deletions to the Minutes for the Work Session March 20, 2018, and the Regular Meeting March 20, 2018. Commissioner Sexton made a motion to approve the minutes. Commissioner Owens seconded the motion and Commissioners Owens, Cunningham, Sexton, and Steward voted aye. Motion approved.
ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT
Administrator Ledbetter read the report into the record.
COMMISSIONERS’ REPORT
Commissioner Owens reported that he attended the Georgia Department of Public Health’s town hall meetings in Bartow County and Murray County. Also attended a lunch meeting with a Floyd County Commissioner regarding regional economic development opportunities, and attended the Calhoun City Council meeting. Commissioner Steward commented that he attended the College and Career Academy 2nd annual meeting. Commissioner Cunningham attended the Public Safety Committee Meeting, and he met with the architects at the Animal Control facility site. Chairman Hood recognized the attendance of a student attending the meeting as part of his course work for the Youth Leadership Class.

CONSIDERATION OF NEW BUSINESS
AT&T FIRSTNET AGREEMENT TO PROVIDE DIGITAL WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES FOR GORDON COUNTY
Chairman Hood advised that this is an agreement with AT&T for FirstNet to provide digital wireless telecommunications equipment and services.
Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to approve the agreement. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and Commissioners Cunningham, Steward, Sexton, and Owens voted aye. Motion passed.
BUDGET AMENDMENT FOR THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE CONDEMNATION FUND TO REPLACING A PATROL CAR
Chairman Hood advised that this is a budget amendment for the Sheriff Office’s Condemnation Fund in the amount of $6,250 to help cover the cost of replacing a patrol car that was wrecked. The total budgeted amount of $25,542 plus the $6,250 covers the full cost to replace the wrecked patrol car.
Commissioner Sexton made a motion to approve the budget amendment for the Sheriff’s office. Commissioner Owens seconded the motion and Commissioners Sexton, Owens, Steward, and Cunningham voted aye. Motion passed.
PROCLAMATION FOR APRIL AS DONATE LIFE MONTH
Commissioner Owens read the Proclamation for April as Donate Life Month for LifeLink, a donate life organization.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Sexton made a motion to adjourn the Regular Meeting. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all voted aye.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
