The Board of Commissioners met for the Work Session in the Conference Room of the Administration Building at 5:45 p.m.
Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
County Administrator explained each item on the Regular Meeting agenda to the Board members.
Administrator Ledbetter requested that the Board table an item on the Regular Meeting Agenda for an Amendment to the Ambulance Service Agreement with Adventist Health System of Georgia until he could get some more information.
Commissioner Owens asked Fire Chief Ralston did his Department seek the grant from Firehouse Sub for two Lucas Chest Compression Systems. Fire Chief Ralston advised that his guys did seek that grant and Commissioner Owens commends that Department for doing that, and added that this is an exceptional way to invest some dollars and the Fire Department will see lives saved because of that equipment. That is probably the most important and the most successful device that has ever been invented to provide consistent, constant, accurate CPR.
Commissioner Potts spoke about live streaming of the Board’s meetings and advised that Keith King would have to do some work if the Board wants to do the live streaming. Keith King advised the Board that he would have to get a camera at an approximate cost of $700.
Emergency Management Director Courtney Taylor explained the request for updating and confirming the Emergency Operations Plan. He advised that this Plan should be updated every four years and will not have to be updated until 2022 but they have come out with a new template so they are rewriting the whole plan. He wants to make sure they are in line with the way the Board members want the succession of government who is going to be in charge if the Chairman of the Board is not available.
Commissioner Owens made a motion to close the Work Session. Commissioner Cunningham seconded the motion and all voted aye.
There being no further business, the Work Session adjourned at 5:57 p.m.
