WORK SESSION MINUTES
MAY 1, 2018


The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building.

Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.

PUBLIC HEARING FOR DRAFT JOINT COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE

County Administrator Ledbetter announced that the Public Hearing for comments regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan is now open and turned the hearing over to Julianne Meadows with Northwest Georgia Regional Commission. Ms. Meadows explained that Gordon County and the cities of Calhoun, Fairmount, Plainville, and Ranger have prepared a draft Joint Comprehensive Plan Update for 2018 – 2028. The draft was prepared with public participation and guidance from a committee of public and private individuals. Changes to the draft can be made up until the time for submission to the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. Plan approval by June 30, 2018 is required. No one signed up or came forward with comments. Copies of the draft document will be available at city and county offices and on the Northwest Georgia Regional commission website, also Ms. Meadows left her card with contact information at the Administration Building for anyone wishing to call her with comments during the comment period before submission to Georgia DCA.

Mr. John Meadows with Northwest Georgia Benefits presented a proposal for renewal of County employees health insurance.

County Administrator Ledbetter discussed with the Board each item on the agenda for the Regular Meeting. There were no changes or additions made to the Agenda.

Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to adjourn the Work Session. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all voted aye.

There being no further business, the Work Session adjourned at 5:55 p.m.
