Members Present

Regular Meeting

Chairman Padgett called the meeting to order at approximately 5:25 p.m. welcoming all in attendance. Minutes from April 4, 2016 meeting were presented for review and approval. Jeff Henderson made motion to accept minutes; seconded by Betty Ann Surdykowski. All voted aye.

Commission Reports

Chairman Padgett gave a brief overview of his activities since April meeting.

Unfinished Business

Chairman Padgett reviewed Longstreet Cemetery email that was previously emailed to HPC members. (email filed with minutes)

New Business

Chairman Padgett stated there is a possibility of placing the Resaca Confederate Cemetery on an historic district. He has not had opportunity to complete needed letter and suggests it be tabled until paperwork can be completed.

Chairman Padgett has not heard back from TPL (Trust for Public Land) in regard to Gordon County easement violation on Chitwood Farm.

Chairman Padgett mentioned the possibility of placing a Gordon County easement on the Chitwood Farm. He stated the HPC may want to consider this as one of their short/intermediate goals.

Chairman Padgett stated the Georgia Civil War Commission will be meeting in Calhoun on Saturday May 14, 2016. They will also be touring the park at 1:00 p.m. on the same date.

Adjournment

Chairman Padgett stated next scheduled meeting is Monday June 6, 2016 @ 5:30 p.m.. Alvin Long made motion to adjourn; seconded by Jeff Henderson. All voted aye. Meeting was adjourned at approximately 5:44 p.m.
