PRESENT: Commissioners: M.L. “Bud” Owens, Chair, Kevin Cunningham, Vice Chair, Chad Steward, Bruce Potts, Kurt Sutherland; County Administrator and Attorney Jim Ledbetter, County Clerk Hollis Barton, Executive Assistant Keith King, Craig Sparks, Courtney Taylor; Media
- Discussion of Regular Session Agenda Items
Mr. Ledbetter gave an overview of the agenda. - For Board Consideration
- Departmental Report by Parks and Recreation: Director Craig Sparks gave an overview of the first quarter of 2023 and the events that have taken place. Stated construction for the Salacoa Park project that was recently approved by the Commision was scheduled to begin in June. Currently in the process of renovating Salacoa Creek concession stands and bathhouse for the campground; stated they will be hiring lifeguards for reopening of beach and in May they will open Resaca Battlefield Park to the public during the week for a trial period. Mr. Sparks stated next Wednesday they will attend the Braves game with youth participants and their parents and in June will host both 8U Softball district & State tournament; September will host an amazing race put on by the Chamber.
Chair Owens asked if there was anything could do for Parks & Rec. Mr. Sparks stated he was pleased with the support.

Vice-Chair Cunningham made a motion to enter into Executive Session, seconded by Commissioner Potts. The motion carried 5-0.
Upon exiting the Executive Session, Commissioner Potts made a motion to close the Executive Session, seconded by Commissioner Sutherland. The motion carried 5-0. No action was taken.
