GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
MAY 3, 2016
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held their Regular Meeting on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building.
Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION
Employees with Anniversary Hire Dates in May
Commissioner Steward the read the list of employees with anniversary hire dates in May. Commissioner Sexton drew the name of Susie Schendel with the Tax Commissioner’s office as Employee of the Month.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Hood asked if there are any additions, omissions, or deletions to the Minutes for the Work Session April 29, 2016, and the Regular Meeting April 29, 2016. Commissioner Sexton made a motion to approve the minutes. Commissioner Cunningham seconded the motion and Commissioners Cunningham, Sexton, Gazaway and Steward voted aye. Motion approved.
ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT
County Administrator King read the report into the record.
COMMISSIONERS’ REPORT
Commissioner Gazaway reported that he attended the General Administration Committee meeting. Commissioner Sexton attended the ACCG Annual Meeting in Savannah. Commissioner Steward attended the Development Authority meeting and the ACCG Annual conference; and Commissioner Cunningham attended the Georgia Cumberland Academy Groundbreaking and Reception, and the Gordon County Historical Society Board meeting; Commissioner Hood attended the Tom Graves Rally. Commissioner Cunningham also commented that he wanted to recognize the Gordon County Animal Control and the good job that they do.
CONSIDERATION OF UNFINISHED BUSINESS

CONSIDERATION OF NEW BUSINESS
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION PROPOSAL FOR FISCAL YEAR 2016/2017 FOR NORTH GEORGIA COMMUNITY ACTION TO OPERATE THE SECTION 5311 VAN PROGRAM
County Administrator King advised that this is for Board approval of the proposal and the service agreement to operate the Section 5311 van program.
Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to approve the proposal and service agreement for North Georgia Community Action for the van program. Commissioner Gazaway seconded the motion and Commissioners Cunningham, Gazaway, Sexton, and Steward voted aye. Motion passed.
PILOT AGREEMENT FOR ALADDIN MANUFACTURING FOR FIXTURES, MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT
County Attorney Ledbetter advised that this is the proposed PILOT agreement from the Development Authority for Aladdin Manufacturing. This has a commencement date of 2017. Mr. Bill Thompson and Kathy Johnson with the Development Authority are here to explain further and answer questions should the Board ask any.
Commissioner Steward made a motion to approve the PILOT agreement for Aladdin Manufacturing. Commissioner Cunningham seconded the motion and Commissioners Steward, Cunningham, Sexton, and Gazaway voted aye. Motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Gazaway made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Sexton seconded the motion and all voted aye. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:23 p.m.
