GORDON COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION
PUBLIC HEARING
MAY 12, 2014
The Gordon County Planning Commission held a Public Hearing on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Gordon County Administration Building for the purpose of hearing variance and zoning change requests.
Chairman Rains called the meeting to order and advised all present of the sign-up sheets available for those who wish to address the Planning Commission on any of the zoning or variance change applications.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Ron Free to approve the minutes of the previous meeting of April 14, 2014. Jerry Lovelace seconded the motion. All voted aye. The minutes were approved as written.
REZONING APPLICATION #Z14-01, PRACHI HELI, LLC (Timakiben Rasikal Patel) (Tabled from April 14, 2014)
Chairman Rains read rezoning application #Z14-01, Prachi Heli, LLC (Timakiben Rasikal Patel), requesting to rezone a 1 acre tract located at 2929 Highway 411, Oakman, GA from A-1 to C-G. Bobby Patel represented the request stating that he would like to make an addition to the existing Owens Grocery and bring property into compliance. Mr. Patel had failed to bring the receipt as proof of having notified the adjoining property owner, but stated he would bring it in to the Zoning Administrator, Ursula Desrosier, on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 if that would be acceptable.
Ursula Desrosier, Zoning Administrator for Gordon County, recommended that the rezoning request identified as Application #Z14-01 be approved with the stipulation that Mr. Patel bring in to her the proof that he had notified the adjoining property owner.
Jerry Lovelace made the motion to approve the rezoning request identified as #Z14-01 from A-1 to C-G as requested with the stipulation that Mr. Patel bring the proof of notifying the adjoining property owner in to Ms. Desrosier. Ron Free seconded the motion. All voted aye. The recommendation for approval was sent to the Board of Commissioners with the stipulation.
(Note: Mr. Patel did bring in the notification to Ursula Desrosier, Zoning Administrator.)
REZONING APPLICATION #Z14-03, TONY TEMPLE
Chairman Rains read rezoning application #Z14-03, Tony Temple requesting to rezone a 2.918 acre tract located at 403 S. Sequoyah Circle, NE, from A-1 to RA-1. Mr. Temple represented the request stating that he would like to bring the property into compliance so he could build a shop and in the future put in a pool. All adjoining property owners had been notified.
Ursula Desrosier, Zoning Administrator for Gordon County, recommended that the rezoning request identified as Application #Z14-03 be approved.
Ron Free made the motion to approve the rezoning request identified as Application #Z14-03 from A-1 to RA-1. Jerry Lovelace seconded the motion. All voted aye. The recommendation for approval was sent to the Board of Commissioners.
ADDITIONAL BUSINESS
There being no additional business, Ron Free made the motion to adjourn. Jerry Lovelace seconded the motion. All voted aye. The meeting was adjourned at 6:14 p.m.
