WORK SESSION MINUTES
MAY 15, 2018


The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building.

Vice Chairman Steward called the meeting to order.

Ms. Allie Grinner, Gordon County 4-H Extension Agent, came before the Board to introduce the students that are participating in the Youth Preparedness Initiative. Ms. Grinner advised the Board that 12 graduates are here today, these graduates are high school students and they have completed the eight-week CERT training class and have completed a service project where they equipped their family and other families to be prepared for emergencies. Gordon County is the first county in Georgia to implement this program and this is the first graduating class completing the course. Board members congratulated the students on completing this difficult course and thanked Ms. Grinner for her leadership.

Administrator Ledbetter discussed with the Board each item on the agenda for the Regular Meeting. There were no changes or additions made to the Agenda.

Administrator Ledbetter spoke to the Board concerning a request from Flipper McDaniel. He is requesting that the Board make an exception to our subdivision plat requirements, and allow those proposed that do not meet all of the requirements to be labeled Rural Estate Plats.

Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to go into Executive Session for Legal matters. Commissioner Sexton seconded the motion and all voted aye. Executive Session convened at 5:51 pm.

Commissioner Sexton made a motion to adjourn the Executive Session and go back into the Work Session. Commissioner Owens seconded and all voted aye.

Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to adjourn the Work Session. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all voted aye.

There being no further business, the Work Session adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
