5/19/2011 Planning & Zoning Commission Minutes
The Gordon County Planning & Zoning Commission held a Public Hearing on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Gordon County Administration Building for the purpose of hearing variance and zoning change requests.
Chairman Talley called the meeting to order and advised all present of the sign-up sheets available for those who wish to address the Planning Commission on any of the zoning or variance change applications.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Ricky Smith to approve the minutes of the previous meeting of April 11, 2011. Brad Rains seconded the motion. All voted aye. The minutes were approved as written.
REZONING APPLICATION #Z11-02, HELEN BARRETT PAUL AND HARRY W. BARRETT
Chairman Talley read rezoning application #Z11-02, Helen Barrett Paul and Harry W. Barrett requesting to rezone 1.50 acres located at 124 Union Grove Church Road, Calhoun from C-G back to A-1. Ms. Paul represented the rezoning request explaining that the 1.50 acres is not used for commercial and they would like to incorporate it back to the estate property. This would bring the estate property to 61.16 acres. All adjoining property owners had been notified.
Paige Hatley, with MACTEC acting as the Planning Consultant for Gordon County, recommends that the rezoning request identified as Application #Z11-02 be approved. Randy Rule made the motion to approve the rezoning request #Z11-02 from C-G to A-1. Ron Free seconded the motion. All voted aye. The recommendation for approval was sent to the Board of Commissioners.
ADDITIONAL BUSINESS
There being no additional business, Ron Free made the motion to adjourn. Randy Rule seconded the motion. All voted aye. The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
