GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
WORK SESSION MINUTES
MAY 22, 2014
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building.
Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
The Board discussed each item on the agenda and added one item later in the meeting. The item to be added to the agenda was a contract with Cigna Health and Life Insurance Company for employee health and life insurance coverage beginning July 1, 2014.
County Attorney Ledbetter discussed with the Board the item on the agenda for the contract with Pieper O’Brien for the replacement of the parking deck.
Chairman Hood presented Finance Director, Al Leonard a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting that he had been awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association.
Mr. John Meadows with Starr-Mathews Insurance made a presentation to the Board concerning the renewal of the employee health insurance contract with Signa Health Insurance. There was discussion with the Board concerning some potential changes in the health plan, but eventually there were no changes made to the plan. The Board reached a consensus to add this item to the agenda for the Regular Meeting for the Board’s consideration.
Commissioner Steward made a motion to go into Executive Session for personnel. Commissioner Gazaway seconded the motion and all voted aye. Executive Session began at 5:50 p.m.
Executive Session adjourned at 6:00 p.m. and the Board went back into the Work Session
Commissioner Gazaway made a motion to close the work session. Commissioner Sexton seconded the motion and all voted aye. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
