WORK SESSION MINUTES
JUNE 16, 2020
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at 5:45 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building.

Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
County Administrator Ledbetter explained each item and the zoning issue on the Agenda for the Regular Meeting including the approval of the Budget.
Following the Administrator’s comments regarding the approval of the budget coming before the Board on the Regular Meeting Agenda, Commissioner Owens voiced his main concern with the request he had made previously for an Assistant Deputy Director in Emergency Management. Commissioner Owens asked the other Commissioners, that as the budget is approved tonight, we have a consensus that we will look back at this request and try to commit funding for this position on January 1, 2021, in order to fill that position the second half of this fiscal year. Chairman Hood commented that she felt the board members all agree that once the budget numbers come in, in about six months, that is something we will look at. Commissioner Steward commented that he verbally agrees with that.
Commissioner Sexton made a motion to adjourn the Work Session and go into the Regular Meeting. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all voted aye.
There being no further business, the Work Session adjourned at 6:01 p.m.
