GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
JULY 5, 2016
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held their Regular Meeting on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building.
Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION – Employees with Anniversary Hire Dates in July
Commissioner Gazaway read the list of employees with anniversary hire dates in July. Commissioner Steward drew the name of Cristina Davis with the Probate Court as Employee of the Month.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Hood asked if there are any additions, omissions, or deletions to the Minutes for the Work Session June 21, 2016, and the Regular Meeting June 21, 2016. Commissioner Steward made a motion to approve the minutes. Commissioner Cunningham seconded the motion and Commissioners Cunningham, Sexton, Gazaway and Steward voted aye. Motion approved.
ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT
County Administrator King read the report into the record (copy linked).
COMMISSIONERS’ REPORT
Commissioner Steward reported that he attended the Development Authority meeting, and Commissioner Hood commented that she, John King and Jim Ledbetter, along with Congressman Graves met with the Georgia Economic Development.

CONSIDERATION OF NEW BUSINESS
AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE PROPERTIES COMMISSION FOR RENTAL OF THE OLD STATE PATROL BUILDING ON LOVERS LANE FOR DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY
County Attorney Ledbetter advised the Board that this is an agreement with the State Properties Commission for rental of the old State Patrol building. This lease automatically renews for eight years on 45 days notice. The terms are the same as the county has had for several years.
Commissioner Sexton made a motion to approve the agreement with the State Properties Commission for the Department of Public Safety. Commissioner Gazaway seconded the motion and Commissioners Sexton, Gazaway, Steward, and Cunningham voted aye. Motion passed.
PROPOSAL TO PROCURE A COMPUTER AIDED DISPATCH (CAD) SYSTEM FOR E-911
County Administrator King advised that this is a proposal to procure a computer aided dispatch system for E-911. Gordon County advertised for bids and four vendors responded with proposals. The recommendation is to accept Spillman Technologies proposed lease purchase agreement for a monthly cost of $5,451.49, to be funded from the E-911 budget.
Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to approve the proposal from Spillman Technologies. Commissioner Gazaway seconded the motion and Commissioners Cunningham, Gazaway, Steward, and Sexton voted aye. Motion passed.
AGREEMENT WITH MOMON CONSTRUCTION, INC. TO RENOVATE THE GORDON COUNTY GOVERNMENT PLAZA BUILDING
County Administrator King advised that this is an agreement with Momon Construction to renovate the Gordon County Government Plaza Building at a cost of $870,000.
Commissioner Gazaway made a motion to approve the agreement with Momon Construction. Commissioner Sexton seconded the motion and Commissioner Gazaway, Sexton, Steward, and Cunningham voted aye. Motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Gazaway made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Sexton seconded the motion and all voted aye. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
