Gordon County is currently accepting applications for the position of Victim Advocate to work in the District Attorney’s Office. Qualified
applicants should possess a minimum education requirement of a high school diploma or equivalency, sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years. The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and abilities: Good communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to read, interpret, and act on information regarding government regulations. The ability to use independent judgment, interpret technical procedures, possess problem solving abilities and organizational skills. General knowledge of the criminal justice system is helpful. The ability to work and communicate with the public in stressful situations; must be mature, compassionate and decisive in working with victims. The ability to work in a team based, fast paced environment. Must
be computer literate and have knowledge of all general office machinery. Must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License and have a good driving record.
