The Board of Commissioners met for the Work Session in the Conference Room of the Administration Building at 5:30 p.m.
Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
County Administrator Ledbetter explained the rezoning issues and each New Business item that was on the Regular Meeting agenda to the Board members.
Mr. Anthony Gregory, General Manager and Ms. Monica Moseley, Municipal Services Manager with Republic Services came before the Board to give a report on Redbone Ridges Landfill. Republic Services has taken over the management and operations of the landfill that they recently acquired from Santek. The contract with Santek will be held by Republic Services now. Mr. Gregory emphasized that no odors will affect nearby residences. They will keep the landfill clean, otherwise there will be no changes, no odor will leave the property. There will be no sludge from Cobb County taken in. Mr. Levy will still be the local manager of the landfill. Commissioner Owens commented that he would like for Republic to present a proposal in the future how they can provide free trash at the convenience centers for the local residence.
Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to go into Executive Session for Personnel. Commissioner Potts seconded the motion and Commissioners Cunningham, Potts, Steward, and Owens voted aye. Executive Session began at 5:46 p.m.
Commissioner Potts made a motion to close the Executive Session and go back into the Work Session. Commissioner Owens seconded the motion and all voted aye. Executive Session adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
Commissioner Potts made a motion to close the Work Session. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all voted aye.
There being no further business, the Work Session adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
