GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
JULY 24, 2012
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Special Meeting July 24, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Administration Building Conference Room.
Chairman Bailey called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone.
Chairman Bailey stated the Board of Commission’s position is that the fairest way to distribute the LOST funds is by percentage of population. The City of Calhoun was asked their Council’s decision on the method of distribution of the LOST funds and Mayor Palmer advised that the Calhoun City Council agreed with the recommendations from the ACCG and the GMA that the most equitable method of distribution of LOST funds is to distribute according to the most recent census population numbers. The City of Fairmount and the Town of Resaca asked that their funding remain to be the same distribution percentage numbers used for the last distribution of LOST funds. The Board of Commissioners reiterated that the fairest distribution is by population.
The City of Fairmount advised that they would go to arbitration to have the method of distribution decided.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
