WORK SESSION MINUTES
AUGUST 4, 2015
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. in the main courtroom of the Gordon County Courthouse.
Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
The Board discussed each item on the agenda for the Regular Meeting and made no changes or additions.
Jeff Champion, Director of Buildings and Grounds Department, gave a power point presentation explaining the many county buildings and properties that his department maintains with a small department of only five employees. Director Champion commented that his department maintains a total of 37 buildings and over 50 departments, plus outside agencies of 10 buildings and 15 departments. Assist in grounds maintenance of over 100 acres, and other responsibilities such as deliver, setup and return of voting machines for all elections including elections at 3 school, collect and store surplus items for quarterly or annual auctions, and work the annual tire amnesty day collecting over 33,000 lbs. per event.
Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to go into Executive Session for legal matters. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and Commissioners Cunningham, Steward, and Sexton voted aye. Executive Session began at 5:43 p.m.
Commissioner Sexton made a motion to close the Executive Session. Commissioner Cunningham seconded the motion and Commissioners Sexton, Cunningham, and Steward voted aye. Executive Session closed at 5:51 p.m.
Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to close the Work Session. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all voted aye. There being no further business the Work Session adjourned at 5:52 p.m.
