WORK SESSION MINUTES

Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
County Administrator Ledbetter explained each item on the agenda and the New Business items.
Mr. Alan Guyton, CFO Advent Gordon, and Mr. Mike Merrill, CEO Advent Gordon came before the Board to introduce themselves and to update the Board Members on the hospital’s situation regarding the Covid-19.
Mr. Don Holley, Human Resources Director, made a presentation regarding the payroll process and his suggestion to save the County some money by implementing a program for paperless check receipts. In checking with Munis, they have an employee self-service portal that would cost about $107 per payroll and with our $60 in fixed costs, printing and stuffing the papers, savings on reprints, employees having to come to the Administration building to pick up checks, we would save money. Mr. Holley suggested that this would be the first phase and other processes are available with this program which may be implemented at some future time. Following discussion and questions, there was a consensus of the Board to allow the Human Resources Department to implement the paperless check receipts for employees that are currently using direct deposit for their payroll checks. Employees currently receiving actual checks will still receive those checks.
Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to go into Executive Session for real estate matters. Commissioner Owens seconded the motion and all voted aye. Executive Session started at 5:43 pm.
Commissioner Sexton made a motion to adjourn the Executive Session and go in to the Regular Meeting. Commissioner Owens seconded the motion and all voted aye. Executive Session adjourned at 6:12 p.m.
