8/9/2010 Planning & Zoning Commisson Minutes
The Gordon County Planning & Zoning Commission held a Public Hearing on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Gordon County Administration Building for the purpose of hearing variance and zoning change requests. Chairman Talley called the meeting to order and advised all present of the sign-up sheets available for those who wish to address the Planning Commission on any of the zoning or variance change applications.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Ricky Smith to approve the minutes of the previous meeting of May 10, 2010. Brad Rains seconded the motion. All voted aye. The minutes were approved as written.
- REZONING APPLICATION #Z10-05, SONNY WINKLE
Chairman Talley read rezoning application #Z10-05, Sonny Winkle requesting to rezone 1 acre located at 353 Lovebridge Road from A-1 to R-1. Tynan Winkle represented the request explaining that they would like to be permitted to rebuild their home that had been there for 10 years and had recently burned. The tract had never been recorded so to acquire a building permit they must rezone the tract to bring it into compliance. All adjoining property owners had been notified. Paige Hatley, with MACTEC acting as the Planning Consultant for Gordon County recommended that the rezoning request #Z10-05 be approved. Ricky Smith made the motion to approve the rezoning request #Z10-05 from A-1 to R-1. Ron Free seconded the motion. All voted aye. The recommendation for approval was sent to the Board of Commissioners.
- REZONING APPLICATION #Z10-06, GARY MEALOR
Chairman Talley read rezoning application #Z10-06, Gary Mealor requesting to rezone .69 acres located at 516 Switch Connector Road, from C-G to R-1. Mr. Mealor represented the request explaining that he rezoned this property 2 years ago to use as a clean-up shop but would like to rezone this property back to its original classification to permit it to be used for his personal residence. All adjoining property owners had been notified. Paige Hatley, with MACTEC acting as the Planning Consultant for Gordon County recommended that the rezoning request #Z10-06 be approved. Randy Rule made the motion to approve the rezoning request #Z10-06 from C-G to R-1. Brad Rains seconded the motion. All voted aye. The recommendation for approval was sent to the Board of Commissioners.

There being no additional business, Randy Rule made the motion to adjourn. Brad Rains seconded the motion. All voted aye. The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
