Stream Buffer Variance Application

Gordon County Board of Commissioners has submitted an application to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division for a variance to encroach within the 25 foot state water buffer. More specifically, Gordon County is proposing to construct an 8-foot recreational trail at the Ft. Wayne Historic Site that will result in 103 linear feet of buffer disturbance along the Oostanaula River.

The location of this project is at the Ft. Wayne Historic Site near SR 136 in Resaca, Georgia.

The public can review the site plans for this project at the Gordon County Public Works Dept. located at 4011 SR 53 in Calhoun from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Interested parties may submit written comments regarding this proposed stream buffer variance until September 25, 2012 to:
