GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 2, 2014


The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held their Regular Meeting on Tuesday September 2, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building

Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.

INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Invocation was led by Rev. John Allen. The pledge of allegiance was led by Chairman Hood.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Chairman Hood asked if there were any additions, omissions, or deletions to the Minutes for the Work Session August 19, 2014 and the Regular Meeting August 19, 2014. Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to approve the minutes. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all voted aye. Minutes approved.

ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT

County Administrator King read the report into the record (copy attached).

COMMISSIONERS’ REPORT

Commissioner Gazaway commented that he attended the IMCP Initiative meeting for the region pertaining to manufacturing. Commissioner Sexton commended the Animal Control Department for the great strides that they have made in the past couple of months. Commissioner Cunningham attended the Gordon County Home Builders luncheon and the Annual 4-H Banquet.

CONSIDERATION OF UNFINISHED BUSINESS

None

CONSIDERATION OF NEW BUSINESS

BOARD APPROVAL FOR GORDON COUNTY TO FUND THE POWER COSTS AND THE COMMUNICATION LINE FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT UNION GROVE ROAD AND SHAW DRIVE

Chairman Hood advised that this item is for Board approval for Gordon County to fund the power costs and the communication line for a traffic signal at Union Grove Road and Shaw Drive.

Commissioner Sexton made a motion to approve the county funding of the power and communication line for the traffic signal. Commissioner Cunningham seconded the motion and Commissioners Sexton, Gazaway, Steward, and Cunningham voted aye. Motion passed.

ADJOURNMENT

Commissioner Sexton made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Gazaway seconded the motion and all voted aye. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
