Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.

County Administrator King presented a framed certificate to Gordon County Fire Department Division Fire Chief Blake Hodge for successfully completing the process that awards him the professional designation of Chief Fire Officer by The Commission on Professional Credentialing. This designation offered by The Commission on Professional Credentialing is an internationally recognized third-part verification of professional competence in fire and emergency services and is considered by many, the highest level of achievement possible for a fire chief. Administrator King congratulated Division Fire Chief Hodge for this accomplishment.

The Board discussed each item on the agenda and made no changes or additions.

Gordon County E-911 Director Debbie Vance updated the Board of Commissioners on the E-911 Department. Also dispatch to all Fire Departments and Emergency Management Services in Gordon County, and includes County departments of Emergency Management, Animal Control, Public Works and Calhoun Street Department. The Department handled just under 75,000 calls during fiscal year 7/1/13 to 6/30/14, resulting in an average dispatch time of 24 seconds.
