Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.

Mr. Jason Everts appeared before the Board of Commissioners to request space for a new permanent public skateboard park. He would like to provide a modern skate park that captures the fun of skateboarding while nurturing the needs of a beginner and challenging the skills of an expert. Mr. Everts explained that he is in the process of raising 100% of the funds required to build the skateboard park and is looking for the needed space. Mr. Everts asked the Board if he can give the county this money so the existing skate park can be refurbished or rebuilt to modern standards. County Administrator advised that Mr. Everts would be able to donate money earmarked for the county to refurbish or rebuild the current park. The County would need to decide if we want to continue to operate a skate park.
Chairman Hood asked the Board for a consensus of approval to appoint Commissioner Owens as the County’s voting delegate to the ACCG Leadership Conference in October. Board members all indicated their approval and there was a consensus to appoint Commissioner Owens as the voting delegate from Gordon County.
Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to adjourn the Work Session. Commissioner Owens seconded the motion and all voted aye.
There being no further business, the Work Session adjourned at 5:46 p.m.
