Gordon County will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the conference room of the Gordon County Administration Building located at 201 North Wall Street in Calhoun, Georgia for the purpose of discussing the approved activities of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Gordon County was awarded a $500,000 grant by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs for the purpose of constructing a multi-purpose building for The Voluntary Action Center.
Items to be discussed include:
1. The amount of funds received and a description of each activity.
2. The amount of funds available for each activity and the amount to benefit low and moderate income persons.
3. The plan, if applicable, to minimize the displacement of persons and the plan to assist those who may be displaced.
4. Fair Housing laws and the county’s plan, if applicable, to further fair housing.
Citizens are invited to attend this public hearing to become informed of the county’s grant activities.
