GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
WORK SESSION MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 17, 2013
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 5:45 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building.
Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
The Board discussed each item on the agenda and made no changes or additions.
Chairman Hood advised the County Administrator to forgive the $42,000 invoice to the Board of Education for the Resource Officer and stated that the Board would look at this next year. The Chairman stated that the Board had agreed that the County won’t bill the Board of Education for the Resource Officer and the Board of Education will not bill the County for the school nurse next year.
An attorney for Mr. Rasheed Virani, Mr. Brumblow, spoke to the Board regarding his client, Mr. Virani who is owner of the SNR Groceries and has applied and been turned down a couple of times for a beer and wine license. Mr. Brumblow asked for the Board’s re-consideration of allowing his client to apply for a license and grant a probationary license for a period of time. County Attorney Smith commented that she was under the impression from her last conversation with another attorney representing Mr. Virani that he would apply to the City of Calhoun for annexation. Mr. Brumblow advised that there was not any interest in applying to the City at this time. The Board asked Mr. Brumblow to get with the County Attorney to determine if and/or when Mr. Virani could apply for a license with the County.
Commissioner Sexton made a motion to adjourn the Work Session, Commissioner Cunningham seconded the motion and all voted aye.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
