SEPTEMBER 18, 2012

Chairman Bailey called the meeting to order.
The Board discussed each item on the Agenda and made no changes to the Agenda.
The Board held a lengthy discussion for the item on the agenda for the Intergovernmental Agreement for the Allocation and Distribution of proceeds from the Energy Excise Tax. County Attorney Smith advised the Board that she had drawn the agreement to include the Cities of Calhoun, Fairmount, Resaca, and Plainville. Each city can sign the agreement and participate or if they decide that their particular city does not wish to participate, then they just don’t sign the agreement. Attorney Smith asked that the allocation and distribution percentages be read aloud and attached to the agreement and made a part of the agreement. Administrator Dowling read the percentages into the record; the SPLOST distribution is Gordon County would receive 79.35 %, City of Calhoun 18.62%, City of Fairmount 0.98%, City of Resaca 0.66%, and City of Plainville 0.39%.
Commissioner Long made a motion to adjourn the Work Session. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all voted aye.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
