WORK SESSION MINUTES
JUDICIAL BUILDING ASSEMBLY ROOM

Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
County Administrator Ledbetter explained to the Board members the Rezoning Applications to be heard and the New Business items on the agenda for tonight’s Regular meeting. Mr. Ledbetter also explained the Public Hearing for the millage rate.
Chairman Hood requested that the Board go ahead and hear the Administrator’s Report in the Work Session and that the Board Members give their reports also in the Work Session. The Board decided to move the item to Recognize the local Department of Family and Children Services for being named Board of the Year by the State of Georgia to the Regular Meeting in order to give their members time to get to the this meeting.
Mr. James Amick with the Willow Grove Homeowners Association came before the Board requesting that the 3.5 miles of streets in the Willow Grove subdivision be repaved. Administrator Ledbetter advised that he and the Public Works Director Steve Parris had previously looked at the streets and that those streets are on a schedule already.
Three members of Boy Scout Troup-were in attendance. The Board asked that they come forward and give their names and what they were earning badges in. The leaders of the Troup came forward they all posed with the Board for photos.
Administrator Ledbetter advised Chairman Hood that he no longer needed the Executive Session with the Board that was included on the Agenda; Chairman Hood suggested that the Administrator and the Board members proceed with their reports.
Commissioner Owens reported that he wished to thank Emergency Management for their help with the Fair, he also reported that he had visited with Governor Kemp, attended the stockholder meeting for the Comp Plan, and had answered several phone calls and texts from citizens.
Commissioner Potts gave his department report for Public Works, he also reported that he attended the Keep Calhoun/Gordon Beautiful Board meeting, attended Governor Kemp’s visit to Calhoun, the Retired Teachers meeting, and the Keep Calhoun/Gordon County Beautiful meeting, and met with some citizens.
Commissioner Steward reported that he attended the Resaca City Council meeting.
Commissioner Cunningham attended the Comp Plan committee; he also recognized County departments E-911, Fire, and the ambulance service for their help with a recent incident with his neighbor.
Commissioner Owens made a motion to close the Work Session. Commissioner Potts seconded the motion and all voted aye.
There being no further business, the Work Session adjourned at 5:58 p.m.
