October 2, 2017

Regular Meeting
Chairman Padgett called the meeting to order at approximately 5:22 p.m.; welcoming all in attendance. Minutes from August 7, 2017 meeting were presented for review and approval. Jeff Henderson made motion to approve; seconded by Betty Ann Surdykowski and David Mitchell. All voted aye.
Commission Reports
Betty Ann Surdykowski presented pictures to the HPC of “The General” train display which is located in the lobby of the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office.
David Mitchell received a letter from Jean Schaaf regarding Wright Family Cemetery, which is located on private property on Wrights Hollow Road. (Letter was read during meeting and is documented on tape). David Mitchell will contact Ms. Schaaf and give her the contact information for Ursula Richardson with Planning & Development Office.
Jeff Henderson received an email from Jane Weldon in reference to obtaining a National Register Evaluation and Determination of Effect letter from the HPC for six local home owners who have been selected to receive a home rehabilitation grant. (Copy of email filed with minutes). HPC members briefly discussed this request. Chairman Padgett will contact Jane Weldon to obtain further information for this request.
New Business
Chairman Padgett stated Southern Paranormal Investigators contacted himself requesting to visit Fort Wayne on October 14, 2017. David Mitchell made motion to approve their request; seconded by Betty Ann Surdykowski. All voted aye. Chairman Padgett will forward the request to Gordon County Board of Commissioners. (copy of BOC letter filed with minutes).
Chairman Padgett informed HPC of upcoming Gordon County Antique Engine & Tractor Show on October 21, 2017. He also informed HPC of Highland Games to be held at Stone Mountain on October 21st and October 22nd, 2017.
Adjournment
Chairman Padgett stated next schedule meeting is Monday, November 6, 2017. Jeff Henderson made motion to adjourn; seconded by Jim Weaver. All voted aye. Meeting was adjourned at approximately 5:40 p.m.
