REGULAR SESSION MINUTES
OCTOBER 3, 2017
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held their Regular Meeting on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building.

Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION
Commissioner Cunningham read the list of employees with anniversary hire dates in October. Commissioner Sexton drew the name of Michael Jones with the Sheriff’s Department as Employee of the Month for October.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Hood asked if there are any additions, omissions, or deletions to the Minutes for the Work Session September 19, 2017, the Regular Meeting September 19, 2017, and the Special Meeting September 25, 2017. Commissioner Steward made a motion to approve the minutes. Commissioner Cunningham seconded the motion and Commissioners Cunningham, Sexton, and Steward, voted aye. Motion approved.

County Administrator Ledbetter read the report (copy attached).

CONSIDERATION OF UNFINISHED BUSINESS
None
CONSIDERATION OF NEW BUSINESS
BID AWARD FOR NEW FUEL CONTRACT FOR GASOLINE AND DIESEL FOR GORDON COUNTY
County Administrator/Attorney Ledbetter advised that the County solicited for bids and received responses from seven vendors. After evaluation by staff, the recommendation is to award the bid to Petroleum Traders Corp with the lowest responsive bid to supply gasoline and diesel for Gordon County.
Commissioner Sexton made a motion to award the bid to Petroleum Traders Corp. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and Commissioners Steward, Cunningham, and Sexton voted aye. Motion passed.
APPOINTMENT TO THE FAMILY AND CHILDREN SERVICES BOARD FOR ROBERT HUGHES, SERGEANT WITH THE CALHOUN POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR AN UNEXPIRED TERM ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2018
Chairman Hood advised that this is an appointment to the Family and Children Services Board for Robert Hughes with the Calhoun Police Department, to fill the unexpired term of member Tony Pyle whose term ends September 30, 2018.
Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to approve the appointment of Robert Hughes to the Family and Children Services Board. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and Commissioners Cunningham, Steward, and Sexton voted aye. Motion passed.
REQUEST FROM THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION FOR A PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION AT FORT WAYNE HISTORIC SITE
Chairman Hood advised that this item is a request from the Historic Preservation Commission to allow a paranormal investigation at the Fort Wayne Historic Site.
Commissioner Sexton made a motion to approve the request from the Historic Preservation Commission. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and Commissioners, Sexton, Steward, and Cunningham voted aye. Motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Steward made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Sexton seconded the motion and all voted aye. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:07 p.m.
