WORK SESSION MINUTES

JUDICIAL BUILDING ASSEMBLY ROOM

Chairman Hood called the meeting to order and explained the items on the Agenda. She asked Mr. King to comment on the item for the Contract with United Pump and Controls for the Veeder Root Automatic Tank Gauge package. Mr. King advised that he had been involved in this when employed at the Public Works Department. He explained that this is the fuel system at the Public Works Department that controls all our fuel system for all County vehicles. Mr. King also referred to the Contract and reminded the Chairman that the Administrator had added stipulations on the last page of the contract.

ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT

Chairman Hood suggested to the Board that they proceed with the Administrator’s Report and the Commissioners’ Reports. In the absence of Administrator Ledbetter, Keith King, Executive Assistant to the Administrator was asked to give the Administrator’s Report. Mr. King requested that the Report as written attached to the Agenda stand as the report. Mr. King also did a report on the current courthouse renovation project. Administrator’s Report is attached to the Regular Meeting minutes.

The Chairman advised that the Board has agreed to allow Mr. King to pick someone to be the County’s ACCG Voting Delegate for Online Voting on the 2023 ACCG Policy Agenda.

COMMISSIONERS’ REPORTS

Commissioner Owens reported that he had answered several citizen calls and that he dealt with regarding some of the upcoming growth challenges the County faces.

Commissioner Potts reported that he attended the Development Authority meeting, the Gordon County Schools Advisory Board Meeting, attended the Stark Industries ribbon cutting, attended the ribbon cutting for the 706, and met with a developer trying to find a location in our community. Commissioner Potts gave a report on his departments for the Public Works, Fleet Management, and Building and Grounds, and reminded everyone to light their porch pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Commissioner Cunningham reported that he talked and met with citizens with various issues, and attended the Candidate Forum.

Chairman Hood asked that the Employee Recognition item on the Regular Meeting agenda also be heard during the Work Session. Commissioner Steward read the list of Employees with Anniversary Hire Dates in October and drew the name of Corey Tate with the Sheriff’s Department as Employee of the Month for October.

Commissioner Owens made a motion to close the Work Session. Commissioner Potts seconded the motion and all voted aye.

There being no further business, the Work Session adjourned at 5:58 p.m.
