GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
WORK SESSION MINUTES
OCTOBER 7, 2014

The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building.

Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.

The Board discussed each item on the agenda and made no changes; one item was added to the agenda later in the meeting.

Mr. Richard Cooper, with Emergency Management, explained his request for a letter from the Board approving submitting a pre-application to GEMA for a supplemental response and recovery competitive grant in the amount of $10,000. The County would fund the $10,000 and GEMA would reimburse the County as the funds were spent.

Mr. Barry Hice, with Public Works, spoke to the Board about the two bids for his department, one for a tractor and boom mower and one for the replacement fuel system.

The Board discussed a letter from the Board of Assessors advising that Mr. Bobby House had resigned from the BOA. The BOA submitted their recommendations for the Board’s consideration, naming Lamar Ray as their first choice and Donna Reeves as their second for filling the position. There was a consensus of the Board to add this item to the Agenda for Board approval.

Mr. Dave Ronnigen, the grant writer and administrator on the Community Development Block grant recently awarded Gordon County, held an advertised public hearing to hear community comments regarding the grant. This public hearing was held at 5:30 p.m. while the Board of Commissioners was in executive session. Attached is a copy of the Public Briefing Agenda Mr. Ronnigen presented at the public hearing.
