10/19/10 Work Session Minutes
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Administration Building.
Chairman Long called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone.
The Board discussed each item on the Agenda and made no changes; one item was added to the agenda during the meeting.
The Board discussed the bid award for an independent radio system consultant. County Administrator Dowling advised the Board that this radio system is going to impact every public safety entity in Gordon County that operates a UHF/VHF radio system. A representative from TUSA Consulting Service was present and answered several questions and advised that TUSA is not tied to any vendor; they are strictly a consulting firm.
The Board discussed the need to approve an appointment to the Northwest Georgia Region One EMS Council for a two-year term. Chairman Long advised that Mr. Bud Owens has agreed to be reappointed to the Region One Council. There was a consensus of the Board to add this item to the agenda.
Commissioner Gordon made a motion to adjourn the Work Session. Commissioner Hood seconded the motion and all voted aye. There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
