GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
OCTOBER 21, 2014


The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held their Regular Meeting on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building

Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Chairman Hood asked if there were any additions, omissions, or deletions to the Minutes for the Work Session October 7, 2014 and the Regular Meeting October 7, 2014. Commissioner Sexton made a motion to approve the minutes. Commissioner Gazaway seconded the motion and all voted aye. Minutes approved.

ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT

County Administrator King read the report into the record (copy attached).

COMMISSIONERS’ REPORT

Commissioner Gazaway commented that he attended the recent ACCG conference in Athens, also a Development Authority training, the judges Appreciation Dinner, the Calhoun High School Advisory Board meeting, the Gordon County General Administration Committee meeting, and a Community Governmental Affairs meeting. Commissioner Sexton also attended the ACCG conference in Athens and received his Certified County Official certificate, he attended the Development Authority training, the GOP meeting with Tom Graves, and the CCEO meeting.

PUBLIC HEARING FOR ZONING

Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to go into the public hearing for zoning. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all voted aye. Motion passed

APPLICATION Z14-08, TOMMY STONE

County Attorney Ledbetter read application Z14-08 for Tommie Stone’s request to rezone from A-1 to R-6. This comes to the Board of Commissioners from the Planning Commission with their recommendations for approval. No one signed to speak for or against the rezoning request.

Commissioner Gazaway made a motion to approve the rezoning. Commissioner Sexton seconded the motion and Commissioners Gazaway, Sexton, Steward, and Cunningham voted aye. Motion passed.

APPLICATION Z14-10, TONY LEE TURNER

County Attorney Ledbetter read application Z14-10, Tony Lee Turner’s request to rezone from R-1 to A-1. This comes to the Board of Commissioners from the Planning Commission with their recommendations for approval. No one signed to speak for or against the rezoning request.

Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to approve the rezoning. Commissioner Sexton seconded the motion and Commissioners Cunningham, Sexton, Gazaway, and Steward voted aye. Motion passed.

CONSIDERATION OF UNFINISHED BUSINESS

None

CONSIDERATION OF NEW BUSINESS

None

ADJOURNMENT

Commissioner Sexton made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all voted aye. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
