11/01/11 Regular Session Minutes
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held their Regular Meeting on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Conference Room of the Administration Building.
Chairman Bailey called the meeting to order.
INVOCATION AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Invocation was led by Rev. John Allen and the pledge of allegiance was led by Chairman Bailey.
WELCOME
Chairman Bailey welcomed everyone to the meeting.
EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION – Employees with Anniversary Hire Dates in November
Chairman Bailey read the list of Employees with anniversary hire dates in November. Commissioner Steward drew the name of Kenny Black with the Sheriff’s Department as employee of the month.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Bailey asked if there were any additions, omissions, or deletions to the Minutes for the Work Session November 1, 2011, and the Regular Meeting November 1, 2011. Commissioner Steward made a motion to approve the minutes. Commissioner Long seconded the motion and all voted aye. Minutes approved.

CONSIDERATION OF NEW BUSINESS
- ORDINANCE OF THE GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH RABIES CONTROL – First Reading
County Attorney Smith advised that this is the first reading of an ordinance request from the Gordon County Board of Health for Rabies Control. Under State Law the Board of Health is mandated to govern rabies control within the county and this ordinance is requested by the Board of Health which will put into written form the procedures that are followed concerning rabies control when there is a report involving a rabid or potentially rabid animal. This ordinance will be on the agenda at the next meeting for the second reading and for Board consideration for adoption.

Commissioner Long made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and all voted aye. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:15 a.m.
