Regular Meeting
Chairman Padgett called the meeting to order at approximately 5:10 p.m.; welcoming all in attendance. Minutes from October 4, 2021 meeting were presented for review and approval. Jim Weaver made a motion to approve minutes; seconded by Betty Ann Surdykowski. All voted aye.
Unfinished Business
Chairman Padgett stated walking trail bridge at Fort Wayne has been having repairs made.
Inventory is ongoing of the Ernest Rutledge Civil War collection.
New Business
Chairman Padgett introduced Jim Langford to commission. Mr. Langford is an archaeologist and President/Founder of The Coosawattee Foundation.
Mr. Langford spoke with HPC regarding Native American sites in Gordon County and surrounding areas. He spoke about different relics that have been recovered and preserved from Native American home sites/land sites. He gave a copy of an article he wrote regarding a particular artifact (article on file with minutes).
Chairman Padgett and HPC commission expressed their appreciation to Mr. Langford for taking his time to share with them.
Adjournment
Chairman Padgett stated next HPC meeting would be announced, pending any business that needs to be handled.
David Mitchell made motion to adjourn; seconded by Jim Weaver. All voted aye. Meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:25 p.m.
