Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.

Chairman Hood and Executive Assistant, Keith King explained to the Board the New Business items and the rezoning application on the agenda for tonight’s meeting.

Chairman Hood asked that the Board go ahead and hear the Administrator’s Report and the Commissioners’ reports.

ADMINISTRATORS REPORT

Mr. King read the Administrator Report. (copy attached to the Regular Meeting minutes).

COMMISSIONERS’ REPORTS

Commissioner Owens reported that he attended the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission meeting, Comprehensive Plan stockholder meeting, the Optimist Club, Regional Trauma Advisory Board and the Regional Council meeting, and handled several calls and texts from citizens. Request that the Board hear a report from Animal Control at a future meeting. Commissioner Owens offered a salute to Debbie Vance, Director of E-911 and her team, for their Drugs Don’t Work event at the Fairgrounds. Announced December 8th Christmas Parade in downtown Calhoun.

Commissioner Potts encouraged everyone to take the survey for the ideas for the future of Gordon County, attended a meeting with Director Taylor and Chief Ralston about the Kiwanis Club wanting to come back in to our community, Legislative Appreciation Dinner, the Board Meeting for Keep Calhoun Beautiful, attended the Ribbon Cutting White Tail Ranch, COUP Training, Catoosa County for the Continuality of Operations Program, Airport Ribbon Cutting, and the Northwest Georgia Survey. Gave the update for the Fleet Management, Public Works and Buildings & Grounds departments.

Commissioner Cunningham reported that he attended the meeting with the Administrator about various issues, attended the Comprehensive Plan Stockholders meeting.

Chairman Hood advised that she met regarding the School Systems with Dr Fraker.

The Youth Leadership attendees were welcomed and each one stood and gave their name and the school that they attend, also the sponsors introduced themselves to the Board of Commissioners.

Commissioner Owens made a motion to close the Work Session. Commissioner Potts seconded the motion and all voted aye.

There being no further business, the Work Session adjourned at 5:55 p.m.
