GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
SPECIAL MEETING
NOVEMBER 4, 2016
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners met in a Special Meeting at 3:00 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Administration Building.
Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
RESOLUTION IMPOSING A BURN BAN IN GORDON COUNTY
County Attorney Ledbetter read the resolution into the record. Chairman Hood asked if there were any questions or comments. A representative from the State of Georgia Forestry Commission commented that she would like to make the resolution wording a little more specific by adding to the ban on all types of outdoor open burning to include campfires, open cooking fires, warming fires, and bonfires. There was a consensus to go ahead and add that additional language. Chairman Hood asked for a motion to approve the resolution as read and to include the additional wording requested by the State of Georgia.
Commissioner Cunningham made a motion to approve the resolution and to include the additional wording. Commissioner Sexton seconded the motion and Commissioners Cunningham, Sexton, and Hood voted aye. Motion passed.
Commissioner Sexton made a motion to adjourn the meeting. There being no further business, the Special Meeting adjourned at 3:08 pm.
