Historic Preservation Commission Minutes
November 6, 2017

Regular Meeting
Chairman Padgett called the meeting to order at approximately 5:24 p.m.; welcoming all in attendance. Minutes from October 2, 2017 meeting were presented for review and approval. Betty Ann Surdykowski made motion to approve minutes; seconded by David Mitchell. All voted aye.
Commission Reports
David Mitchell received an email regarding two Bradley Cemeteries in Gordon County. Email questioned whether there were definitely two Bradley Cemeteries; David Mitchell responded to email to confirm there are two Bradley Cemeteries located in Gordon County.
James Weaver questioned how the two properties referenced on the CHIP grant were designated historical properties? Chairman Padgett stated the properties are not within an historic district and that the CHIP grant was confirming the two properties would not affect any properties surrounding them that would be historic properties.
Unfinished Business
Chairman Padgett stated parks have been heavily visited.
Southern Paranormal Investigators Fort Wayne site tour was approved by Board of Commissioners and expected date of tour is November 11, 2017.
Chairman Padgett presented HPC with a copy of Tourism Product Development Resource Team Report (filed with minutes). Brief discussion regarding the report. Chairman Padgett has a follow up meeting later this month with Sarah Husser, Gordon County Chamber of Commerce, regarding the report.
New Business
Chairman Padgett presented HPC with CHIP grant letter for review and approval. Betty Ann Surydkowski made motion to approve letter; seconded by James Weaver. All voted aye.
Adjournment
David Mitchell made motion to postpone December HPC meeting until January; seconded by Jeff Henderson. All voted aye.
James Weaver made motion to adjourn; seconded by Betty Ann Surdykowski. All voted aye.
Meeting was adjourned at approximately 5:39 p.m.
