GORDON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
NOVEMBER 30, 2016
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners met in a Special Meeting at 8:30 a.m. in the Conference Room of the Administration Building.
Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
Attorney Ledbetter advised that the purpose of the meeting is for the Board to approve a resolution requesting the Gordon County Public Facilities Authority to issue $5,410,000 in bonds for the refunding of the jail complex, the additional complex debt, and the Government Plaza debt. Gordon County is contributing principle of $1,500,000 to pay down on the jail debt. The interest rate is 2.26%; the savings will be approximately $600,000, which is why Gordon County wants to do this. Attorney Ledbetter asked for the Board to approve the resolution of Gordon County; and approve the resolution of the Gordon County Public Facilities Authority that issued the series 2016 bonds in the principle amount of $5,410,000, and to authorize Becky Hood as Chairman and Annette Berry as Board Clerk to sign all documents necessary to accomplish.
Chairman Hood made a motion to approve the resolution of Gordon County and the Gordon County Public Facilities Authority as presented by Attorney Ledbetter. Commissioner Steward seconded the motion and Commissioners Hood, Steward, and Cunningham voted aye. Motion passed.
Chairman Hood made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Cunningham seconded the motion. There being no further business, the Special Meeting adjourned at 8:34 a.m.
