1/20/09 Work Session Minutes
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. in the Administration Building Conference Room.
Chairman Long called the meeting to order.
Mr. Kenny Padgett with the Historic Preservation Committee and Mrs. Paige Hartley with MacTec spoke to the Board regarding the progress by the Historic Preservation Committee on the New Echota and Resaca Battlefield overlay districts.
The Board discussed each item on the Agenda for the Regular Meeting and made no changes; several additional items were added to the Agenda later in the Work Session.
The Board discussed two appointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission. There was a consensus of the Board to add those two items to the Agenda.
Sheriff Mitch Ralston discussed the transfer of the Ordinance Officer position to his department, also his request for a new vehicle for that person when the position is filled. There was a consensus of the Board to add the transfer of the position to the Agenda.
The Board requested that the Purchasing Department proceed with solicitation of bids for the vehicle for an Ordinance Officer.
Commissioner Bailey made a motion to adjourn the Work Session. Commissioner Gordon seconded the motion and all voted aye.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
