WORK SESSION MINUTES
DECEMBER 1, 2015
The Gordon County Board of Commissioners held a Work Session Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Administration Building
Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
The Board discussed each item on the agenda for the Regular Meeting and made no changes or additions.
Mr. Jim Bradford, Ordinance Compliance officer came before the Board and presented an update for his department. Mr. Bradford advised that he is a newly appointed Ordinance Compliance officer since October 19th. He thanked everyone that has helped him get started in this new position such as the Information Technology Department, the County Attorney, the Director of the Building and Planning Department and the County Clerk, he has also worked with the Animal Control Department. He has joined the Code Association of Code Enforcement and has taken Fundamentals of Erosion class. Since he started, a variety of complaints, (about 50) have come in to his office, with 12 new complaints this week. Mr. Bradford explained the colored door hangers that he uses when he goes out without contact being made; verbal warning is the yellow, red will be the written warning with the third time to be a citation.
County Administrator King commented about the Ordinance Compliance officer, that he is responding to complaints, he is not going out looking for business.
Commissioner Gazaway made a motion to close the Work Session. Commissioner Sexton seconded the motion and all voted aye. There being no further business the Work Session adjourned at 5:53 p.m.
