Chairman Hood called the meeting to order.
County Administrator Ledbetter discussed with the Board each item on the Agenda for the Regular Meeting and made no changes or additions.
County Administrator Ledbetter explained the amendment for the first reading of the Malt Beverage, Wine, Alcohol ordinance. He also advised the Board that the application for a malt beverage license at the B P Foodmart on Shope Lake Road has gone before the court and the judge has issued his findings and has ordered that Gordon County will issue the requested malt beverage license to Zahid Rashid, the applicant for B P Foodmart.
Following the discussion of the proposed amendment increasing the financial subsidy and the fuel subsidy on the ambulance contract with Gordon Hospital, there was a consensus by Board members to visit this again in two weeks after the County Administrator has a chance to call other counties for comparisons and to get more thorough information.
County Administrator Ledbetter advised the Board that after receiving the bids for installing the replacement flooring for the DFACS building, the project would have a total project cost exceeding $40,000 after adding in the material cost. Administrator Ledbetter recommended meeting with DFACS to identify the only areas where replacement is necessary, in order to reduce the project costs. There was a consensus of the Board to have county staff meet with the DFACS Board to look at and determine the most necessary areas for replacement flooring.
Commissioner Sexton made a motion to adjourn the Work Session. Commissioner Cunningham seconded the motion and all voted aye.
There being no further business, the Work Session adjourned at 5:48 p.m.
